I can't afford your event right now as I am in a financial bind. Perhaps in the future when the book takes off, I can support your event. But when one is the author of a book, unless the event is book specific, we often can't make the money back we spent to do the event and therefore come out in the negative.

I do want to thank you for your kind offer. I hope your event is a success.
