Gerard Bonner is a native of Monticello, New York. The oldest of the three children, Bonner graduated Monticello High School in 1993, and continued his education at Virginia Union University, earning his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics. He graduated in 1997, as the valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA, the first student to accomplish this in 50 years.

While in college, Bonner met and began a partnership with three friends in a chat room. In 1997, that partnership birthed Gospelflava.com, which stands as the leading informational website in the gospel music industry, garnering 12 million hits per month. As co-founder and associate editor of the website, Bonner provides reviews for the newest albums within the gospel music industry, while interviewing and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, and many other of the industry’s most popular acts. In addition, Bonner spent four years with Rejoice 100.9 hosting an entertainment segment before serving as co-host of Morning Praise with Mike Chandler. During his tenure, the station was nominated four times as Stellar Award Radio Station of the Year, winning that award in 2007 and 2009. Bonner also hosts The Gospel Beat, an entertainment segment currently airing in Pittsburgh, PA, New Haven, CT, and Nashville, TN.

In 2009, he launched his own photography venture called Bonnerfide, with exposure already on Gospelflava.com and BET.com. Over the years, he has handled event photography for the Stellar Awards, BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, Picnic At The Pavilion, and The Hero Tour (featuring Kirk Franklin & Mary Mary), along with numerous celebrations and recordings.

In September, he launched Bonnerfide Radio, a daily internet radio broadcast that has raised the bar for the presentation of radio in the Christian marketplace. Housed at getbonnerfide.com, the show has had over 26,000 visits and over 50,000 pageviews, with listeners in 46 states and 46 different countries. Fusing the latest in inspirational music, Bonnerfide Radio provides a balanced presentation of the Christian experience with innovation and creativity. In addition, Bonnerfide Radio was nominated for a 2010 Stellar Award in the inaugural “Internet Radio Station of the Year” category.
