Soldier Field Hosts 2010 World Cup Festival July 11 Featuring Amateur Tournament & Viewing Party of the World Cup Finals Month-Long Celebrate Africa Festivities Culminate at Soldier Field
Soccer fans can watch live matches by amateur players in the Chicago World Cup and also view the international match broadcast as part of the 2010 World Cup Festival at Soldier Field Stadium, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr., Sunday, July 11 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
The fifth annual Chicago World Cup Soccer tournament brings together 48 national teams made up of international and local amateur soccer players. Only 32 teams will qualify to play in the finals at Soldier Field. These teams will play on four separate fields in the stadium from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. The top groups from those rounds will then compete in the playoffs from 2 - 5:30 p.m.
In addition, the World Cup Finals will also be broadcast on the stadium video boards beginning at 1 p.m. CST (time subject to change) for a viewing party.
